How is FPM at IIM?

In FPM program you undergo the following stages generally:
1. Mandatory coursework with PGP students for the first year
2. In the second year, you study specialized subjects and present a mini-thesis
3. At the end of 3.5 years, you present a detailed thesis of your research work. Along with that, you are expected to publish papers in national & international journals.
4. There will be pressure for publishing papers, mini-thesis, and final thesis. You should be able to handle it.
So before joining one should keep in mind the following:
1. To have a real interest in pursuing research
2. Identify the broad area of research along with some idea of research topic( for interviews)
3. Some IIMs conduct RAT, so one must be prepared for it
4. Be very sure of "why you want to do FPM?'
5. Understand the essence of FPM and understand that it is not an extension to PGP, although you will be expected to score good CGPA in the first year
6. This program is of long duration. you need to walk on your own path so having patience is of utmost importance
